Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law, Erica!
Today the moon is in the First Quarter phase. As astrologer Dana Gerhardt points out, this is a time of tension. We can start to see how our New Moon intentions are playing out and whether we need to make any corrections. She suggests doing at least one “consciously courageous act.”
Try to remember that any conflict you feel has its roots within. A person or situation you’re struggling with can represent an internal struggle you feel. Try to integrate some of your own power into what you absorb and reflect.
Yesterday a vocal coach pointed out the timidity of my voice, which I had never noticed before, even though people constantly ask me to repeat myself. I’m going to use that Virgo attention to detail to help improve my volume. I think a mixture of shyness and the fear of overpowering someone else – or a fear of being judged as bossy or pushy – has been holding me back. A friend of mine who subsists on granola bars and Peanut M&M’s just started a college Nutrition class. She’s excited by the ways it’s helping her to think about food choices for herself and her family.
Have you gotten feedback recently on an enhancement you can make in your life that will help to nourish yourself and others over time? Have you discovered any ways you’ve been hiding or holding yourself back? What’s your vision for yourself and the people in your care?
Take some time today to space out or to meditate before you take that first act. Have compassion with others if they seem spacey; we're all stepping into the unknown for a bit today. And see if the chance to dwell in both humility and curiosity helps to awaken energy and purpose that you can start to express.
