Yesterday the sun entered Scorpio, a fixed water sign.
Scorpio carries so much more meaning and symbolism, but for the last two days I’ve simply meditated on fixed water: Ice.
It’s pretty easy to see how developing more of an icy persona could be negative. I might hold too much in. I might shut people out. I might refuse to change direction. But how can it be positive? How can the properties of ice help me become more vital, powerful and complete over the next month? How do I need to strengthen or stabilize? When is it appropriate to be impenetrable? How can I be more transparent?
The ice on a lake protects the water and life underneath from the cold. But a layer of ice that’s too heavy or dark can block the sun and prevent photosynthesis: Ice can cut off oxygen from the life underneath.
The last of the fixed signs, Scorpio has an unmatched staying potential. Under the final hours of today’s Sagittarius moon, make sure that what you elect to stay with has true meaning and hope for you. If there’s a way you’re boxed in right now and have no actual choice about something, try to recognize the inherent power you do have in this temporary holding pattern.
This strong, life-giving potential is actually variable if and when we allow it to be, once we feel safe enough. Even ice can be a block or a snowflake.
